Cougar makes instrumental music. Their lush, dynamic arrangements fall somewhere between early Four Tet, Tortoise, Fugazi, and Nick Drake, but what separates Cougar from the post-rock pack is their keen sensibility of form/texture, which is more in line with sample-based music/modern classical than indie rock.
